Order Status | Top
To check the status of your order, please use the My Account link on the top right of our website. Log into your account using your registered e-mail address and password, and you’ll have access to information on all current and past orders. If you have a problem accessing your account, please contact customer service at sales@knockknock.biz or 800-656-5662.
Placing an Order | Top
The best way to place an order is through this website. Find your items using the navigation categories on the left or by clicking on the pictures until you find what you’re looking for.
On any individual item page, click the Add to Cart button to add that item to your shopping cart. You can continue shopping or click the Checkout button on the left (below your shopping cart) to complete your purchase. You will be guided through the checkout process step by step—registration, shopping cart review, shipping options, payment, and confirmation.
Registration and Benefits | Top
New customers will be prompted to set up an account during the first step of checkout. To register without making a purchase, click the My Account link (at the top right on any page) to go directly to the registration menu.
Registration will allow you to access order status information and receive order and shipment confirmation e-mails (with tracking numbers) for the latest information on your current order. It will also include you on the list to receive special promotions, holiday reminders, and new product arrivals (though you can also opt out of such communication).
Payment Methods | Top
The website accepts credit card payment by Visa and Mastercard only. We do not accept mail orders paid by checks or money orders, and we do not accept American Express.
Website Security | Top
At Who’s There, protecting your information is a top priority. The use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology guarantees that shopping on knockknock.biz is secure. When you enter your credit card number, SSL encrypts all personal information including your card number and your name and address.
To insure that any connection is secure, look at the lower righthand or lefthand corner of your browser window after accessing a server. Depending on your browser, you will see an unbroken key or a closed lock to indicate that the SSL is active and your information secure. You can also look at the URL line of your browser: when accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from “http” to “https.”
Order Changes | Top
If all the items you’ve ordered are in stock, clicking the Confirm Order button (at the end of checkout) immediately sends your order to our third-party warehouse for processing and shipping. Once they receive the order, it cannot be changed.
If you have an order that is being held because of a backorder and you want to ship the available items (or cancel the order), please contact customer service at sales@knockknock.biz or 800-656-5662 immediately. If the backordered item returns to stock before we respond to your e-mail, the order will be released to our warehouse and shipped.
Gift Messages | Top
At this time, we do not offer this service. Any orders shipped to a third party will include a packing list (without prices) and the name of the individual who placed the order.
Gift Certificates | Top
We do not currently offer gift certificates.
Will-Call Services | Top
We do not stock inventory at our Venice office, and our warehouse does not provide customer order pickup services.
Backorder Policies | Top
Occasionally the Who’s There product(s) you covet may be out of stock. This will be indicated on the product page, with red type stating the estimated ship date of the item, as well as in your shopping cart and on your checkout invoice.
You may, of course, opt not to put an out-of-stock item in your cart. If you prefer not to order out-of-stock items, you may ask to be notified when the product is back in stock. If you place an out-of-stock item in your cart, you will have the option to remove it upon checkout.
If you choose to “Ship When Available,” in two separate shipments, you will be charged shipping for both packages. Your first shipping charge will be calculated by the weight of all items in your order that are shipping immediately, not including the backordered item(s). When the backordered item(s) return to stock, the remainder of your order will ship and you will be charged shipping for that second package.
Whether you choose to “Ship When Complete” or “Ship When Available,” your credit card will not be charged for the item(s) or shipping until the item(s) ship. For “Ship When Complete,” this means your credit card will be charged only once, at the later date when your complete package ships. “Ship When Available” will result in two charges, the first immediately and the second when the remaining portion of your order ships.
For out-of-stock items, estimated ship dates are indeed estimates. While we try to estimate as accurately as possible, sometimes manufacturing situations beyond our control cause additional tardiness. If you have any questions about backordered or out-of-stock items, please contact us. You can cancel a backorder at any time by contacting customer service at sales@knockknock.biz or 800-656-5662.
Sales Tax | Top
We are required by the state of California to charge sales tax to any order being shipped to a California address.
Passwords | Top
Forgot your password? To get a new one, click here or on the link on the sign-in page. You’ll be assigned a new password, which will immediately be e-mailed to your registered e-mail address. The new password may be strange and hard to remember, but you can change it to whatever you want once you sign in.

You can go directly to various sections using the department links on the left navigation pane. |
| 2. |
You can browse through the various sections using visual cues by clicking the Goods tab, located toward the top of the page. Clicking on any of those pictures will take you to that department and display all the available items in that section. On these product pages, you can also add an item to your shopping cart, view more details, or e-mail information about the product to your family and friends.

Store Locator | Top
To find a store near you, click the Info tab toward the top of the page, then click the Store Locator link in the left navigation pane. Enter your zip code and click the Submit button to see stores in your area, displayed with phone number, address, and distance information.
If you’re looking for a specific product, we recommend contacting a store first to check availability. Unfortunately, we aren't able to tell you what a particular store has in stock.
Consumer Catalogs | Top
This website serves as our consumer catalog: we do not currently offer a paper consumer catalog. If you are a retailer and would like a wholesale catalog, please click here.
Custom Products | Top
We do not produce custom products for the individual consumer. If you are interested in customizing one of our products in very large quantities (i.e., in the thousands), please contact us at sales@knockknock.biz or 800-656-5662.
Unsolicited Product Ideas | Top
Sadly we cannot accept unsolicited ideas. While theoretically we would love to hear your thoughts, we live in a litigious “But I had a similar idea! Pay me!” society. Therefore we put ourselves at risk by accepting unsolicited suggestions, so we won’t accept them in any form or medium.
Should you defy this notice and submit an idea nonetheless, we are obligated to inform you that not only will we not read it or respond to you, we will probably perform some sort of legally protective ceremonial idea-burning. Please, don’t blame us—instead, do your part to end this trend of frivolous lawsuits, and maybe someday we’ll be able to open an idea conversation. |

Shipping Options | Top
We offer domestic delivery services with FedEx and the US Postal Service (USPS). Specific options are determined by your zip code. Ground shipments are normally sent FedEx Ground, while small card orders generally go by USPS. You can also choose from among express shipping options: overnight, 2-day, and 3-day services.
FedEx cannot deliver to post-office boxes or APO/FPO addresses. Orders shipping to these types of addresses must be sent via the US Postal Service (USPS). We only offer standard mail USPS services.
Unfortunately, USPS packages cannot be tracked. Who’s There is not responsible for lost, stolen, or otherwise missing packages shipped via USPS. Packages sent via USPS First Class Mail typically reach their domestic destination within two to five business days, though can sometimes take as long as four weeks, depending on rain, sleet, snow, and/or disgruntlement. Packages sent via USPS Parcel Post can take 4-6 weeks for delivery.
When your package ships with FedEx, you will receive a shipping notification e-mail with a tracking number. You will be able to use that number to track your package both on our site and on FedEx’s site. Package tracking is NOT available for USPS packages.
Delivery Times | Top
If your order is placed by 11:00 a.m. PST and all the items you ordered are in stock, your order will be processed and shipped within 2 business days. Sometimes we get a little backed up, but the longest it can take for in-stock items is five days (and we pretty much say that just to cover ourselves).
If you choose an expedited shipping method, such as 2-day or overnight, your order will be flagged as urgent and will go out the same day it’s placed if the order is transmitted before 10:00 a.m. PST; after 10:00 a.m. PST, expedited orders will go out no later than the following business day.
Packages are shipped from Southern California. Approximate delivery times for standard (FedEx) ground shipping are:
*Not including order processing of up to 48 hours
Shipping Calculator | Top
Shipping rates are based on method, weight, and distance from sunny Southern California. You can estimate shipping costs by using our shipping calculator, accessible from your shopping cart. Shipping charges can be calculated prior to checkout.
After you’ve filled your shopping cart, click the Details link located below your items in the left navigation pane. Your shopping cart details will appear, displaying all your chosen items. Click the Calculate Shipping link, and you will see a pop-up prompting you for a zip code (and country, if applicable). Enter your zip code, click the Calculate button, and all available shipping options will appear.
If you have any questions about a quoted cost, please contact us at sales@knockknock.biz or 800-656-5662.
International Shipping | Top
FedEx International and the US Postal Service (USPS) are available for select countries in Europe and Asia. Shipping rates are based on carrier, weight, size, and destination.
USPS packages cannot be tracked. Who’s There is not responsible for lost, stolen, or otherwise missing packages shipped via USPS. Packages sent internationally via USPS airmail typically arrive within two weeks, though can sometimes take as long as eight weeks.
Packages sent via FedEx International can be tracked and typically arrive within 3-5 business days after leaving our warehouse.
International Fees | Top
The shipping cost reflected during the checkout process does not include any import fees, taxes, customs duties, brokerage fees, distribution fees, or any other charge applied by organizations other than Who’s There. The customer is solely responsible for these fees and any other additional fees that may apply. Please check with your local customs agency for more information; unfortunately, we cannot quote these costs for you. |

About Us | Top
Who’s There was founded on January 1, 2002, by Jen Bilik, with the mission of creating interesting, smart, well-designed gift and stationery products, along with anything else that might strike the Who’s There fancy. Knock Knock is the pioneer product line of the company Who’s There, Inc. and boldly infuses wit and intelligence into everyday communication.
Our sensibility is proudly distinct, in contrast to the overwhelming homogenization and conservatism that characterize committee-created corporate product. At Who’s There, we enjoy our work and delight in infusing our product with the fun we feel while making it.
We believe that many people are intelligent enough to appreciate wit, wordplay, and conceptual thinking and strive not to dumb down as we create. We operate out of light-filled loft studios in Venice, California, a fantasy locale if ever there was one.
For more on our beliefs and idiosyncracies, peruse our Philosophy. To learn more about Who’s There's founder or mascot, check out Jen or Maisie.
Philosophy | Top
We are Knock Knock, a semi-spanking-new design company with aspirations to greatness.
We concoct, manufacture, and distribute witty objects of cosmopolitan panache from our shamelessly sunny perch on the lefthand coast. Our domain is desire rather than necessity, though we seek to infuse our creations with utility and meaning. We believe in the Golden Rule, friendly customer service, and shipping quality merchandise on time, though occasionally, like all humans, we are grumpy, and circumstances beyond our control may result in tardiness. We suffer fools not gladly, but, for the most part, we actually like other human beings.
Our customers comprise the impish, the dapper, the droll, the young-at-heart—those who feel misunderstood by Santa-inflected wrapping paper and maudlin gilded greeting-card sentiments that rhyme. It is our deepest hope that like-minded individuals such as yourself will appreciate our sensibility. We look forward to feedback both positive and constructive, so if you have any thoughts, please don't hesitate to contact us. We strive to respond to all queries and comments, though sometimes work overload leads to less-than-ideal rates of return correspondence.
On the highfalutin front, Knock Knock seeks to integrate art and commerce—creating original, authentic, noncynical products that support themselves in the marketplace so that we don't have to deal with "clients." Our inspirations are Charles and Ray Eames and Tibor Kalman, designers who refused compartmentalization and brought intelligence, aesthetics, and creativity to everything they touched. Rather than a product category, material, or target market, Knock Knock's unifying force is a sensibility. Also, we read a lot.
For the moment, we are designing and manufacturing original products, selling primarily to retailers. Over the next few years we'd like to bring more editorial content, both visual and verbal, to our website and catalog. We look forward to curating and showcasing the work of others, handmade and few of a kind, as well as offering our own non-mass-produced items. And someday we will wheel the ping-pong table out of the warehouse and organize everybody in our complex into a parking-lot tournament.
Following are a few things we believe, as a matter of aphorism (feel free to select whichever you like to needlepoint onto a pillow):
- Ethics and decency are immeasurably important
- Products should be created with care, whether mass produced or handmade
- Things should be both beautiful and useful, but they can also be beautiful and frivolous
- Beautiful, useful things should sometimes be affordable
- Every once in a while it's good to notice quality design
- Craft is important for the soul as well as the hands and eyes
- Art is not necessarily superior to craft
- Humor makes everything better
- Not everything should strive to be accessible to the lowest common denominator, or any common denominator, for that matter
- Smartness is fun
- Empty feel-good affirmations are an instant gratification of diminishing returns—slyly interpreted truths last longer
- Despite the rise of the screen, much that is interesting and innovative can be done with printed matter, though paper should be recycled whenever possible
- Idiosyncracy, eccentricity, humor, controversy, and opinion are infinitely more interesting than corporate homogenization, committee-decision-making dilution, and widest-possible-audience scheming
- Renaissance prowess is more interesting than individual skills specialized to the point of contextlessness
- Passion, curiosity, and enthusiasm can make anything interesting
- Good should be rewarded
- Problems should be discussed and resolved
